What is Virtual School and How Does It Work?
Virtual School can get complicated with the many options available. For the majority of students, they will take 1-3 courses while remaining enrolled at Sickles. Students may have one "virtual period" at Sickles for every one course online, however, students are not normally allowed to drop classes they are current taking to take classes online - they must work out the schedule ahead of time with their Counselor.
Please note that during e-learning, the FLVS agreement form will be waived.

Virtual periods have a few simple rules:
- Virtual periods are set for 5th, 6th or 7th period
- Students cannot be on campus during their virtual period
- Safety and Campus security - Students will not have a teacher who is responsible for them
- Students must have their own transportation
Hillsborough Virtual or Florida Virtual?
Both options use the same online portal: www.flvs.net The recommendation is if you are replacing classes on your Sickles schedule with virtual, then use Hillsborough Virtual (HVS). If you are taking extra classes or planning to work during the summer, take Florida Virtual (FLVS). The choice for HVS or FLVS comes when selecting each class.
